Wedding Planning Tips: Advice for Your Big Day
Morning Preparations:
It’s best to keep the morning calm. Limit the number of guests at home to avoid stress and chaos. Ideally, get ready with just your parents, siblings, or witnesses.
For the Groom:
Make sure your pockets are empty—no phones or wallets. Bulging pockets can look unattractive in photos, and taking things out repeatedly can be inconvenient.
Communication with the Photographer:
Inform your photographer about the car you’ll use—is it a vintage one? Are the windows tinted? Tinted windows can make it hard to capture good photos through them.
Also, share details about your attire, bouquet colors, and whether there will be bridesmaids and groomsmen.
At the Church:
• Enter slowly, exchange rings, kiss, and leave at a relaxed pace.
• Closing the church doors is recommended to avoid harsh light and curious onlookers in the background of your photos.
• Ask your guests not to interfere with the photographer’s work by stepping into shots with their phones.
• When leaving the church, keep your heads up and look at each other or straight ahead—just smile and let your emotions shine.
The Photo Session:
• Bring sunglasses, especially if you’ll be in open areas without shade. Classic sunglasses add style to photos.
• Even if you’re not planning to wear a veil, having one can create stunning and emotional shots, especially if it’s windy.
In Case of Rain:
• Have a couple of classic umbrellas, preferably black or transparent. Avoid lace umbrellas unless you want a few artistic shadow shots.
• Rain doesn’t ruin a wedding—it’s the mood that does. Embrace the weather for unique and charming photos.
• Consider a backup location like a manor, hotel, or café for indoor photos if rain is expected.
Time for the Photo Session:
• A single location shoot should ideally take 1–1.5 hours. For diverse backgrounds, allocate more time.
• Planning two different locations is perfect for capturing a variety of shots—aim for around 3 hours in total.
Ceremony Timing:
• The best time for the ceremony is between 1 PM and 3 PM, allowing a smooth flow without rushing in the morning.
• Keep in mind that greetings after the ceremony can take about 30 minutes.
Evening Celebrations:
• Plan outdoor decorations with the sun behind people to avoid harsh lighting and squinting.
• Check with your DJ or lighting team about the use of lasers, as they can permanently damage camera sensors.
These tips can help you plan your wedding day smoothly and ensure beautiful, stress-free photos!
